Dateline NBC is the #1 most-watched newsmagazine and true-crime franchise across all of TV during the 2nd quarter, with over 90.1 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Dateline also won across-the-board, beating ABC’s 20/20 for Q2.
Additionally, over 39.6 billion minutes of Dateline were consumed across TV and digital platforms, which includes NBC, cable, broadcast syndication and its streaming network, Dateline 24/7, which had its strongest quarter on record, growing nearly 50% versus 1Q23.
Dateline also marked its strongest quarter on record with more than 190 million video views across digital platforms. In addition, May and June 2023 are pacing to be Dateline’s two strongest months on record.
Additionally, Dateline’s chart-topping showcast, which features broadcasts as podcast episodes, delivered its 2nd consecutive record quarter with more than 100 million downloads. At the beginning of Q2, the showcast surpassed 1 billion lifetime downloads, continuing to rank as the #1 true-crime podcast. The showcast is pacing to have its 4th straight year of growth.
