The promise Wright made to the CNBC audience on April 17, 1989 still rings true today.
From producing award-winning journalism, to being the first network to broadcast a show from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, to opening more than 20 bureaus across the world, CNBC has been the dominant leader in business news for more than three decades.
CNBC has undergone a massive transformation since inception, growing its portfolio exponentially to include 23 hours of live TV programming every weekday across the U.S., Europe and Asia, a 24/7 Digital operation, Direct-to-Consumer products and a flourishing Events and Councils business. Today, CNBC proudly holds the title as the world’s #1 Business News Media company reaching more than 450 million consumers worldwide each month and more affluent Americans than any other business news platform.
CNBC will honor the impressive milestone across its TV and Digital platforms throughout the day. The company will also celebrate by ringing the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange today, led by employees who have been with the company for more than 30 years.
