New York, NY – May 23, 2023 — Today NBCUniversal announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with the U.S. Army in support of its modern brand “Be All You Can Be.” The partnership, which debuted in March 2023, will feature a “Salute to Summer” performance special at Universal CityWalk – adjacent to Universal Studios Hollywood – and will be headlined by Grammy and Golden Globe nominated artist and actor Nick Jonas. The special will be hosted by Erin Lim Rhodes, host of “E! News’ The Rundown” and will launch exclusively on Peacock on Friday, July 7th.

To celebrate the kickoff of Summer 2023, “Salute to Summer” will include a series of activations and unique one-of-a-kind experiences that celebrate the U.S. Army and inspire people to push boundaries and be all they can be. Events will feature NBCUniversal personalities, performance talent and U.S. Army Soldiers.

“I am so honored to be headlining the upcoming ‘Salute to Summer’ concert on Peacock this July to celebrate the active U.S. Army Soldiers and Veterans that have served our country and made us all so proud.”
-Nick Jonas

As part of the special, the U.S. Army and NBCUniversal have created a special augmented reality experience through WebAR starring Nick Jonas. Fans are invited to unlock a special bonus performance from a three-dimensional world right from their phones. Plus, fans have the chance to join in via NBCUniversal’s NFT collection to claim their proof of fandom through the digital moments.

The “Salute to Summer” special is part of a larger 360-campaign that officially kicks off during Military Appreciation Month and leverages the power of NBCUniversal’s One Platform through several touchpoints across the full portfolio. Custom in-show integrations that celebrate U.S. Army Soldiers will take place within NBCUniversal’s “The Voice,” as well as “America’s Got Talent.” From June 2nd – 3rd, Universal CityWalk Hollywood will host a variety of activities, including musical performances by Army Soldiers and a custom “American Ninja Warrior” course for guests to enjoy, and from June 16th – 17th, Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort will offer a variety of activations for guests to experience.

About Nick Jonas

After electrifying music from multiple angles, appearing in blockbuster films, and launching successful business ventures, Nick Jonas still challenges himself and popular culture. Of course, his story as one-third of Jonas Brothers remains well-documented—especially given the band’s chart-dominating 2019 comeback Happiness Begins, sold out tours, and subsequent GRAMMY® Award nomination. At the same time, he established himself as a dynamic solo artist with a penchant for breaking boundaries. 2014’s self-titled Nick Jonas yielded the triple-platinum “Jealous,” double-platinum “Chains,” and gold-certified “Levels.” Its 2016 follow-up Last Year Was Complicated spawned the anthem “Close” [feat. Tove Lo] and brought his streams into the billions. In 2017, he contributed the Golden Globe® Award-nominated “Home” to the Ferdinand soundtrack. Meanwhile, his songwriting would be recognized with the prestigious Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016 and release his solo studio album Spaceman [Island Records] in 2021. Along the way, he also captivated audiences as a re-occurring judge on NBC’s The Voice and in big screen favorites such as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, UglyDolls, Midway, Jumanji: The Next Level, Chaos Walking and more. Nick is set to return to the silver screen in the forthcoming Amazon Studios comedy Foreign Relations, starring alongside Glen Powell. Nick, and his brothers kicked off 2023 with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoring the Jonas Brothers impact and legacy in the entertainment industry, and later confirmed the bands sixth studio album, The Album, which was released to rave reviews on May 12, 2023, via Republic Records. Next up, Jonas Brothers will embark on their massive stadium and arena run dubbed The Tour, leading with two sold out nights at Yankee Stadium on August 12th and 13th.
