Matt Schnaars

President, Platform Distribution & Partnerships

Matt Schnaars is President, Platform Distribution & Partnerships for NBCUniversal. In this role, Schnaars leads the distribution and monetization of NBCU’s linear and streaming services to pay tv providers, NBC broadcast affiliates, consumer technology platforms and devices, and consumer brands.

Schnaars was elevated to this position after serving as President, NBCUniversal Content Distribution, overseeing distribution of NBCUniversal’s owned and operated broadcast stations, cable and regional sports networks, direct-to-consumer services, and FAST channels to the company’s distribution partners. He has had a critical role in NBCU’s growth over the past decade, including the successful launch of NBCU’s direct-to-consumer service, Peacock, in 2020. Schnaars joined NBCUniversal in 2013 as SVP, Content Distribution. 

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Schnaars served as Vice President, National Accounts in the Disney and ESPN Media Networks division at The Walt Disney Company, where he worked for nine years. There he was responsible for distribution of the Disney and ESPN stable of networks to cable, telecom and technology companies, and played a key role in the successful launch of several national television networks, including ESPN3, ESPNU and the SEC Network.

Schnaars holds a MBA with a concentration in Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a BA, Economics from the College of the Holy Cross. He is an Executive in Residence at NYU Stern, serves on the Iona University Board of Trustees, and is an active participant in several media industry organizations dedicated to mentorship and development.
