In just 14 days, “Twisters” has emerged as Peacock's most successful Pay 1 film launch to date. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Universal's Oscar-winning film “Oppenheimer,” directed by Christopher Nolan.
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung and starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, the sequel to the 1996 classic “Twister” premiered on November 15, following a 120-day theatrical release window. “Twisters” opened with an impressive $81.1 million at the U.S. box office on July 19, marking a 98% increase over the original film’s $41 million debut and setting a new record for the highest opening for a natural disaster movie.
Twisters will be available to stream on Peacock until March 14, 2025.
