Returning for its second season on Nov. 21, Based on a True Story stars Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina as a couple obsessed with true crime. Their curiosity leads them to investigate local murders, even launching a podcast with the person they suspect is the killer. Laid, debuting on Dec. 19, follows Stephanie Hsu as a woman on a strange mission: when she discovers that the men she’s previously been with are mysteriously dying, she enlists her best friend (played by Zosia Mamet) to help her uncover the truth.
To celebrate the shows, the event honored honoring Cuoco, Hsu, Mamet, and a range of talented women in comedy, writing, performing, and creating across the industry.
