The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation Announces $3.475 Million in Project Innovation Grants To 100 Non-Profits

Uplifting organizations that are working on the front-lines of our communities to foster a culture of equity and inclusion and innovatively addressing our society’s persistent systemic challenges is at the core of The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation’s Project Innovation grant program.
Presented in partnership with NBCUniversal Local, NBCUniversal’s division that includes the Company’s local media businesses, this year’s Project Innovation grant winners were selected by NBC/Telemundo owned stations in the 11 participating markets. The winners include 100 non-profits that serve communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Hartford, CT, Dallas-Fort Worth, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, Southern California, Miami-Fort Lauderdale and Washington, D.C. markets.
The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation and NBC/Telemundo owned stations increased this year’s grant funding by $1 million dollars to $3.475 million, up from $2.475 million. The program’s four grant categories included: Community Engagement, Culture of Inclusion, Next Generation Storytellers and Youth Education and Empowerment.
Since 2018, the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation and NBC/Telemundo owned stations in 11 markets have presented a total of $10.9 million in Project Innovation grants to 299 nonprofits that are solving everyday problems in our communities through their one-of-a-kind programs.
