This epic 10-part television event narrated by Tom Hanks takes viewers on a breathtaking journey across the supercontinent, full of never-before-seen wonders and awe-inspiring moments experienced alongside the creatures that call it home. Five years in the making and filmed over 180 expeditions, this groundbreaking series reveals the spectacular landscapes of Earth’s most varied landmass – the only one to stretch between both poles.

Come Together for Nature

NBC is partnering with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), LG Electronics USA, AllTrails, and Parks Project on a unique and exciting initiative called “Come Together for Nature.” The campaign invites viewers to continue exploring through a variety of dedicated opportunities:

  • Get outside and connect with nature through NWF’s Green Hour™ or accept The Americas Green Hour School™ Challenge.
  • Hike one of AllTrails’ curated collection of 100 hiking trails that highlight outdoor adventures in each region featured in The Americas.
  • Submit 3D anamorphic artwork inspired by The Americas to LG’s 2025 Wonderbox Showcase highlighting vulnerable and endangered species. The prize? A chance to be featured on LG’s Times Square billboard and win $25,000.
  • Stay tuned throughout the season for more exciting opportunities, including the chance for one lucky family of four to camp out in Yosemite National Park, facilitated by Parks Project as part of its mission to preserve parklands for generations to come.

Reducing Impact While Filming

The docuseries was produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio.

The production team was mindful to limit their impact on the environment, including by tracking animals on foot, transporting equipment with donkeys, and recharging camera batteries with portable solar arrays to capture awe-inspiring footage.

The crew also cut down on travel wherever possible by hiring locally, vehicle sharing, and even opting to camp instead of staying in a hotel. Their combined efforts earned them a Gold Seal from the Environmental Media Association.

Don’t miss The Americas’ special two-hour premiere, airing Sunday, February 23 at 7/6c on NBC and streaming next day on Peacock.

A special “The Making of ‘The Americas,” will be available exclusively on Peacock on Monday, April 21.
