NBCU’s Creative Impact Lab Partners with Illumination on Newest Film, Migration

The collaboration between NBCUniversal’s Creative Impact Lab and Illumination’s new animated film, Migration, has given International Bird Rescue (IBR) the opportunity to uniquely share its story with a vast audience. 

NBCUniversal’s Creative Impact Lab is a signature and award-winning initiative of the company’s corporate social impact program. The Lab harnesses the company’s storytelling expertise and media assets to give back to communities. Through the Lab, NBCUniversal provided a grant to Venice Arts, a nonprofit creative agency that employees LA’s low-income youth who are aspiring content creators. We commissioned Venice Arts and their apprentices to develop much-needed marketing assets for IBR.

As part of a partnership with Illumination, Venice Arts was given the unique opportunity to use the characters and IP from Migration to bring to life IBR’s story of waterbird conservation. 

The resulting :30 PSA made its debut on TODAY and will be featured across the networks and platforms of NBCUniversal and Comcast, providing IBR with powerful exposure.

This collaboration will help driving meaningful change for IBR, shining a light on their mission. At the same time, it provided hands-on experience for the Venice Arts apprentices who created this powerful PSA, with guidance and feedback from NBCU volunteer mentors. 

This holiday season, Illumination invites you to take flight into the thrill of the unknown with a funny, feathered family vacation like no other in the action-packed new original comedy, Migration. Coming to a theatre near you on December 22^nd.
